Donating Artifacts

The Ukrainian Museum of Canada Ontario Branch proudly boasts a diverse collection of over 7,000 artifacts, many of them generously donated by members of the community over the past 80 years. This collection reflects the experiences, traditions, and artistry of Ukrainians in Canada, highlighting the community’s history and serving as a testament to the collective effort to preserve and celebrate our cultural legacy.

We gratefully accept donations of a diverse range of artifacts, including textiles, accessories, household implements, art, books, and other relevant items that showcase the cultural fabric of the Ukrainian community in Canada.

It’s important to note that while we appreciate all donations, not every item may be accessioned into our permanent collection. Our curatorial committee carefully reviews each artifact to assess its historical value and relevance to our mission. Items that are not accepted for accession may still find a new purpose in our boutique, where they can be sold to support the Museum’s operational costs. This process ensures that every donation contributes to the sustainability of the Museum while helping to celebrate and preserve the rich tapestry of Ukrainian culture in Canada. Your understanding and support make a significant impact on our ability to serve the community.

If you have artifacts that you would like to share with us, or for more information about the donation process, please contact us.

Together, we can ensure that our Ukrainian heritage continues to be celebrated and remembered for generations to come.

Your generosity makes a difference in keeping our history alive!
